An unnamed Barcelona player has tested positive for coronavirus, the club have confirmed.
The situation will not impact the Blaugrana’s Champions League preparations for their game against Bayern Munich in Lisbon on Friday night.
The player was part of the nine-man group who underwent testing ahead of their pre-season preparations in the Catalan capital and will now quarantine at home.
“We have reported the matter to the relevant sporting and health authorities,” read a club statement.
“All persons who have been in contact with the player have been tracked to perform the corresponding PCR tests.
“The player has not been in contact with any of the senior team players who are scheduled to travel to Lisbon this Thursday to compete in the Champions League.”
Although the player is in good health and showing no symptoms, he is currently quarantining at home.
