There’s an African saying that the one that climbs good tree gets the push. Indeed something positive is happening at Jamestown Beach with respect to the transformation of the sanitation situation there.
The dedication and hard work by Nurture Nature Foundation, NNF and Sanitation Volunteers Corps of Jamestown made way for a recognition and financial donation by CSIR on Thursday 3rd of January, 2022
It is evident that the Jamestown Beach environs is changing and getting cleaner. The strategy being imbibed through recycling of waste materials like plastics and the use of such materials to create eco tents, collage arts and other useful retrievable like used car tires for beach greening.

Dr Bruce Vanderpuye who made this generous gesture interacted with the fisher folks on the ocean cleaning campaign. Samples of fishes were gathered for laboratory research to assess effects of plastics on the fishes to be consumed. The agenda of Zero Littering as well as realization of UNSDG’s 14 and 15. Ee cannot eliminate the immense positive impact the installation of the Litter Trap has had on this overall ocean cleaning project.
NNF is encouraging and seeking for more development partnership to collaborate and collectively achieve the vision of Cleaning Oceans for quality marine life, improvement in the fishing trade and promotion of Coastal tourism in Ghana.
