Eleven years ago during the 2010 FIFA World Cup held in South Africa, Ghana clashed with Uruguay where Ghana was awarded a penalty in the last minute of the game and our then hero, Asamoah Gyan missed the penalty which got Ghana evicted from the tournament, preventing Ghana from qualifying to the quarter finals of the tournament.
This made Ghanaians rain insults on Asamoah Gyan. Today, one of Ghana’s trusted and reliable radio Station, Joy Fm reminded Ghanaians of their pain 11 years ago by making a tweet asking Ghanaians whether they still have the pain Asamoah Gyan caused in them.
“Fellow Ghanaians, does Asamoah Gyan’s penalty still hurt you?… Let’s hear from you, share your tweets with hashtag #JoySMS” -Joy FM tweeted
This made most football lovers and Ghanaians talking and remembering the scene. This got the attention of Asamoah Gyan on Twitter and he expressed how disappointed he is in Joy Fm.
“I have lost Respect for you guys. From today, @Joy997FM is out on my list. You should be ashamed of your self. Learn how to respect. Smh”- Asamoah Gyan’s reply
